The Erasmus+ initiative to drive the green and digital transition in the construction sector.

EXCEL4HOUSING4.0 aims at establishes a European network of Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs) to drive the green and digital transition in the construction sector.

The project mobilises VET providers, universities, research centres, businesses, clusters, and public authorities across 10 EU countries and Ukraine to co-design training, innovation, and partnerships for energy-efficient, digital, and circular housing (“Housing 4.0”).

The vision is to create a highly skilled workforce capable of delivering net-zero buildings, deep energy renovations, digitalised processes, and circular economy practices in line with the European Green Deal, the Renovation Wave, and the revised Energy Performance of Buildings Directive.

OBJECTIVES

The objectives of the Excel4Housing 4.0 project are:

  1. Develop cross-border training and capacity building programs:
    Co-create innovative training schemes focusing on green, digital, and circular skills for sustainable housing and energy efficiency.
  2. Establish strategic VET-Academia-Industry partnerships:
    Promote collaboration among educational institutions, SMEs, and industry leaders to ensure relevance and applicability of training programs.
  3. Advance smart and green construction skills:
    Equip learners, workers, and educators with the knowledge and tools necessary for the decarbonisation and digitalisation of the housing sector.
  4. Promote inclusive and flexible upskilling/reskilling pathways:
    Tailor learning opportunities for youth, adults, and underrepresented groups in line with lifelong learning goals.
  5. Create a sustainable funding and governance model:
    Ensure long-term sustainability and policy alignment of VET excellence in energy efficiency finance and green construction.
  6. Contribute to EU Green Deal and Circular Economy goals:
    Align training outcomes with EU environmental and social sustainability targets through systemic vocational transformation.
